FAQs
Why should I choose you to photograph my event?
Paul is renowned for his extensive experience, friendliness, and ease of getting on with people. He’s been a professional London photographer for over 25 years, and has photographed all kinds of events in all kinds of venues. Take a look at the portfolio to see for yourself!
I have seen quotes of £300 all in. Why should I not go with that?
As with everything in life, you tend to get what you pay for. Most inexpensive quotes indicate inexperience – someone just starting out, or doing photography in their spare time as a paying hobby. Try and imagine what you want to be looking at after the big day – high quality professional photographs or bunch of snaps?
My relative/friend/colleague wants to do my photos. Should I go with them?
This may seem economical and they may take very good holiday photographs or family pictures when they have all the time in the world, but knowing how to get the perfect shot and working under pressure with limited time is a very different ball game! Professional photographers have the experience to produce the stunning images you would expect when it matters.
I am quite camera shy and do not like posing for photos - is this OK?
Do not worry! Paul specialises in putting you at ease and making the whole experience fun, relaxed and informal. You’ll never be made to do something you are uncomfortable with.
Do I get to keep the digital images?
Yes – on all bookings you will get a disk of high resolution JPEG images included in the price. From these you will be able to print your own photographs and albums, as well as attaching to emails and uploading to social media. You can also order images directly, and although the prices are higher, the professional quality is far superior to what is available to consumers online. You’ll also receive a fantastic audio visual slideshow of Paul’s favourite pictures from your day – perfect for sharing with your friends on Facebook!
How far will you travel?
Paul is based in Barnet, Hertfordshire, and will travel approximately one hour in all directions as part of all quoted prices. This covers central London, the suburbs and the counties around the M25. If your event is further afield, please get in touch for an individual quote.
Are you insured?
Yes – Paul has £5m Public and Employers Liability and also Professional Indemnity Insurance.
When do I pay?
You’ll pay an initial deposit on booking and the balance is due when the pictures are ready after your function. You’ll receive a booking form with all the details required for your day to run smoothly, and a copy of our terms and conditions.
How soon should I book?
As soon as you can. Bookings are taken on a first come first served basis. It is interesting that when Paul started in photography it was not uncommon for clients to book up to two years in advance! Now 3-9 months is more common.
I'm getting married - do we get a pre-wedding shoot?
Yes, this is definitely included! We can go to a park, urban landscape or location of your choice and it is a fantastic way to see how you interact as a couple and what you are like when being photographed. It is an invaluable warm up for the wedding day.
Can I get copies of our album?
Yes, we offer a variety of sizes.
Why do you not video film throughout the whole day?
We specialise in producing high quality cinematic highlight films that last up to 10 minutes, which you can enjoy and share on social media over and over again. Easily show your friends and family the most important moments of your big day over a cup of tea! If you are anxious not to miss out on all the speeches and the service we can record them entirely in addition to the highlights. We’re also able to recommend some excellent colleagues who specialise in full length DVDs if you want a record of the entire day.
